Job Description:

Essential Job Functions

1. Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications at various stages of design - including Concept, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents.
2. Prepares detailed estimates for various project types.
3. Develops and organizes Quantity Take Offs (QTO) for ease of audit.
4. Competencies in architectural interiors estimating.
5. Demonstrates emerging competencies in civil and structural estimating.
6. Ability to interact with trade contractors for pricing input.
7. Review estimates to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with defined scope of work.
8. Interact with multiple organizations to review, discuss project scope and estimate basis, and consult on Company estimating methods/procedures.
9. Document management and organization.
10. Prepares notes and meeting minutes.
11. Engineer and coordinate with teammates on Company estimating methods and preparation directions.
12. Honor the brand promises of the Project Planning Group at Christman. Foundational to our brand is: providing accurate costing; proactively offering creative solutions for the team; and understanding our client's business to optimize capital investment and to win as a team.
13. Complete assigned and required training for this role.

Work Environment
This position will be conducted in a temperature controlled professional office environment, with moderate noise. The role will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and scanners.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to talk, listen sit, walk, reach, kneel, stoop, crouch, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel and to operate a computer and telephone keyboard, and maintain visual acuity. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and or carry lightweight objects under 20 pounds.
Expected Hours of Work
Full time position. Extended hours and weekends may apply.
Travel
Minimal travel required, depending on the project, travel to other areas may be required. Majority of travel done during work hours; overnight stays may be required.
Required Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related job field.

2. Equivalent combination of the above education, training, and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related job field.
2. One (1) year of estimating experience in construction or related job field.

7. Must be an analytical thinker and extremely detail oriented.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
