POSITION SPECIFICS

This role provides support for and participates in the planning, documentation and design processes for physical development at the University including site development, building programming and planning for new and renovated facilities; leads and/or participates in the development of in-house plans and occupancy programs for projects of varying scope; reviews architectural and engineering designs and construction documents prepared by outside consultants; assists in the formulation and enforcement of design standards, leads and/or participates in feasibility studies for future projects; performs construction administration duties; leads and/or assists in the preparation of graphic presentation; works under the direct supervision of staff architects, engineers or others associated with facility management.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Associate Degree 6+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

The Space Optimization Program Manager will report to the Director, Facilities Planning & Capital Projects within the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center & PSU College of Medicine Facilities Department. The position is responsible for space data collection (occupancy, condition, etc.), space data analysis (e.g., identifying underutilized space), and reporting on current use of all categories of space -- office, research, and clinical -- across the Academic Medical Center campus in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Space utilization reporting is vital to executive decision-making, and requires great attention to detail, diplomacy, and organizational skills. There is an ongoing need for planning and programming of building space to optimize the use of limited available assignable space at the Academic Medical Center. The Space Optimization Program Manager will deliver actionable insights and specific recommendations for future space assignments as part of a strategic and comprehensive approach to managing space.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $56,200.00 - $81,500.00.
