About the Job

Summary
The Spirit Squad Strength and Conditioning Coach will report to the Director of Baskeball and
Golf Athletic Performance while developing and executing strength and conditioning programs
for the University of Minnesota Spirit Squads. This position is classified as a casual
appointment limited to 14 hours a week from September through May of the following year.
Duties:
90% of time:
* Develop and implement strength and conditioning program for spirit squad student-
athletes
* Collaborate with spirit coaching staff and supervising performance coach on program
development.
* Teach proper training techniques in the weight room for improved athletic performance. .
* Cooperate with athletic training staff in the management of athletic injuries.
10% of time:
* Attend or complete mandatory training sessions required by the department of
intercollegiate athletics

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
* Current CPR/AED and certification or the ability to acquire certification prior to the start
of employment
* Current personal training or strength and conditioning certification from an accredited
certifying body (ex :NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA)
* Ability to work on site during scheduled training hours including early mornings and
evenings
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience training athletic populations
* Experience with gymnastics, tumbling, or dance

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $30.00; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
