Wilson Elser's Houston office is looking for a General Liability Associate Attorneyto join a team of exceptional professionals in a collaborative environment to represent sophisticated clients confronted with complex legal challenges.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney early in their career seeking to grow professionally and contribute to the success of the firm. The Associate will gain experience with and exposure to practice areas including general liability, insurance defense, commercial litigation, premises & product liability, property rights, transportation and labor & employment litigation.

Qualifications



  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in the state of Texas
  • 2+ years experience
  • Experience with litigation involving general liability, construction, premises, products, transportation, employment, or insurance preferred.
  • Superior communication, writing, analytical and research skills.
  • Experience preparing discovery requests, objections and responses to discovery requests, and motions and briefing relating to discovery disputes.
  • Experience handling court appearances and depositions a plus.


Responsibilities



  • Assist in working on litigation matters at all states of litigation
  • Represent clients in a wide range of civil defense litigation
  • Work closely with other attorneys and Partners on litigation matters
  • Opportunities to handle court appearances and conduct depositions
  • Communicate with clients, including providing regular reports updating clients on the status of their cases and providing recommendations regarding litigation and case resolution strategy.
