What to Expect
Tesla is seeking an OPEX project controls Analyst with relevant construction or facility experience to support the buildout of Tesla's facilities and infrastructure. This role focuses on leveraging data intelligence for financial and resource planning, emphasizes harnessing data intelligence to drive down costs, boost operational efficiency, and inform decisions through advanced analytics, benchmarking, and predictive models across project stages, enabling swift data-driven decision making in a dynamic environment.
What You'll Do
- Site Planning & Data Support: As a Project Analyst on the OPEX Team, support planning and management of multiple R&D sites through data analysis, statistical modeling, and reporting systems - to drive business decisions, solve complex problems, and foster improvements in operational efficiency
- Data Analysis and Insights: Execute data-oriented analyses to design metrics, synthesize information, identify trends and deliver actionable insights influencing decision-making, providing cost drive-down opportunities, and optimize processes without reliance on traditional reporting
- Resource Planning: Develop and execute on comprehensive resource allocation strategies, including forecasting personnel, budgeting and optimizing utilization through benchmarking across projects to ensure organizational efficiency, reduce bottlenecks and support measurable cost reduction analyses
- Cost Analysis & Benchmarking:Analyze operational expenses, services, and financial data to identify trends, variances, cost-saving opportunities, incorporate benchmarking and data visualizations to highlight drive-down strategies and efficiency gains, providing targeted insights to teams
- Onboarding and Training: Develop roadmaps to onboard new OPEX programs into our project management applications for efficient workflow tracking; conduct training and create materials to empower end users with data intelligence tools and best practices for driving operational improvements
- Process Improvement & Stakeholder Collaboration: Continuously identify opportunities to enhance processes and drive down costs through data analysis, stakeholder feedback; and efficiency-focused benchmarking, collaborate with stakeholders to align on data-driven strategies for optimized operations with minimal guidance
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or the equivalent in experience
- 5+ years of proven experience in financial and resource planning, cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cost control management, and process improvement initiatives
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (super-user), PowerBI, and other project management software
- Quick learner with strong adaptability, able to pivot effectively to changing priorities, emerging challenges, and dynamic environments while maintaining high performance
- Understanding of OPEX services and expenditures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present financial data and insights to project teams and senior management

Expected Compensation
$88,000 - $186,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
