Systems Analyst / Information Security Specialist - Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Level II

Location: 100% Remote

Position Overview:

The Senior IT Specialist will play a critical role in supporting Production Operations for the Defense Enterprise Accounting and Management System (DEAMS) Operations Integrated Product Team (IPT). This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong technical expertise to ensure the stability, performance, and reliability of critical IT systems in a dynamic environment.

Job Duties:



  • Provide expert-level support to the Operations IPT by:

    • Conducting production performance troubleshooting
    • Assist with various production issues
    • Supporting training environments as required, including performing database refreshes (e.g., Flashback of the database and clearing concurrent logs and reports)
    • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement system improvements and ensure alignment with operational goals.
    • Documenting technical processes, issue resolutions, and system configurations to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base.
    • Monitoring system performance metrics and proactively recommending enhancements to improve reliability and scalability.




Job Requirements:



  • Proven experience managing multiple, concurrent activities in a fast-paced, mission-critical IT environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience in IT system administration, including troubleshooting, database management, and production support.
  • Familiarity with Oracle databases or similar enterprise-level database systems, including performing database refreshes and log management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues before they impact operations.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of DoD IT systems, security protocols, or experience supporting financial management systems like DEAMS.
