Inova Fairfax Hospital IT Customer Service is looking for a dedicated Sr. IT Enterprise Desktop Administrator to join the Team. This role will be full-time working Monday - Friday day shift located in Falls Church, VA.

The Sr. IT Enterprise Desktop Administrator is responsible for the expert installation/configuration, operation and support of desktop systems hardware and software related infrastructure. Manages computing infrastructure servers, data storage and supporting infrastructure. Provides support to other IT areas and coaches/mentors other members of the team. Manages urgent and complex issues by setting customer expectations, devising and implementing action plans, being available as required and professionally communicating to all parties involved.

Sr. IT Enterprise Desktop Administrator Job Responsibilities:



  • Collaborates and participates in the development of long-term capacity planning and technical solutions.
  • Applies OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis while upgrading administrative tools and utilities.
  • Ensures that all security and vulnerabilities are mitigated/resolved based on the risk level of the vulnerability.
  • Provides support for escalated problems in a timely manner to the appropriate stakeholders and vendors as necessary.
  • Analyzes and resolves complex problems independently and demonstrates the ability to proactively identify and implement successful preventive measures.
  • Ensures proper documentation of policies, procedures and standards on the proper maintenance and recovery of operating systems software is complete and accurate.
  • Performs daily system monitoring to verify the integrity/availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, key processes, application logs and completed jobs.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree; or Associate's degree and 2 years relevant professional experience in addition to the minimum experience required; or HS Diploma/GED and 4 years relevant professional experience in addition to the minimum experience required
  • Experience: 7 years of experience in an enterprise desktop environment with both administration and problem resolution of Microsoft Windows desktop or MAC OS, 5 years of experience working with imaging systems such as ghost, LANDesk, or SCCM
  • Certification: Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert, Microsoft Specialist for Windows 7 or equivalent certification within 12 months


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Previous experience working as a Desktop Administrator in a healthcare environment preferred.
