Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a Summer Mechanical Engineer Intern for our Bridgeton, MO facility to support the design, fabrication support and modification of mechanical and/or electro-mechanical components, sub-systems and systems. Projects vary and may include skills with 3D modeling software, Mechanical Analysis, Thermal, Fluid Systems, Mechanical Packaging of electronics, or others. The intern may assist in the evaluation of the design approach to meet production requirements for new or improved products or services. The intern may also investigate solutions to product or process problems. Key skills are the ability to work and investigate assigned tasks in a team setting and also to collaborate amongst all the technical disciplines to complete the assigned tasks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate good judgment combined with technical expertise and will possess an ability to communicate effectively to team members from different disciplines.The purpose of the internship is to provide meaningful professional hands-on experience to students with proven academic performance and leadership potential. The expected pay scale for this position is $39,933.00/year - $57,104.00/year for the state of Illinois. Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly.
