We are seeking a Joint Logistics Planning - Data/Systems Analyst supporting the Joint Staff (J4), Commercial Support to Operations Division in the Pentagon to play a critical role in shaping the future of commercial support in military operations! As a Logistics Data/Systems Analyst, you'll leverage your analytical expertise to integrate commercial capabilities and Operational Contract Support (OCS) into joint planning, doctrine, wargaming, campaigning and operations. You will transform raw data into actionable insights, providing data-driven recommendations to senior leaders and contributing to the effectiveness of military campaigning and operations worldwide. Responsibilities

* Data Analysis & Visualization: Conduct in-depth analysis of commercial market capabilities, supply chain dynamics, and vendor performance. Develop insightful data visualizations (dashboards, reports, presentations) to communicate complex findings and recommendations to stakeholders. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to apply quantitative methods to solve complex problems, making it an ideal fit for an ORSA professional.

* Joint Planning Support: Apply strategic and operational OCS guidance to review and provide analytical inputs to Combatant Command (CCMD) operation plans, orders, and related documents. Identify potential risks and opportunities related to commercial support in military operations.

* Research & Modeling: Conduct research and analysis to improve integration of commercial capabilities into joint planning processes, procedures, systems, and data. Develop data-driven models to predict the impact of commercial disruptions on military operations, using techniques common in Operations Research such as simulation, optimization, and statistical analysis.

* Data Solution Maintenance: Develop and maintain data solutions of commercial suppliers and their capabilities, incorporating risk assessments and performance metrics. Ensure data accuracy and integrity.

* Market Research: Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging commercial capabilities that could benefit the military.

* Policy & Doctrine Development: Contribute to developing policy, instructions, joint doctrine, and other guidance related to OCS and contracted support, incorporating data-driven insights into recommendations.

* OCS Instructor: A 6-9 month objective of this position, after indoctrination and training, is to join our team of Joint OCS Planning and Execution Course (JOPEC) instructors. This may require approximately 6 weeks of travel per year.



Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

    Clearance: Final Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Education & Experience:
    • Master's degree desired and 4 years related experience in joint planning, operational logistics, operations research, contingency contracting, or OCS OR a Bachelor's degree and 8 years related experience in these areas.
  • JPME: Graduate of Phase I Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) or equivalent level joint tour(s)
  • Data Analysis Skills: Demonstrated experience in data analysis, including proficiency in statistical software and data visualization or artificial intelligence (AI) tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Python, Maven Smart System, Advana, Donovan). Experience with simulation software or optimization solvers is highly desirable.

Desired Skills:

  • Graduate of Phase 2 JPME or equivalent level joint tour(s).
  • Graduate of the School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS), the Joint Advanced Warfighting School (JAWS), the Maritime Advanced Warfighting School (MAWS), the School of Advanced Warfighting (SAW), or the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies (SAASS).
  • Experience as a U.S. Army Logistics Support Plans and Operations (SPO) Officer or other joint or Service equivalent (J/G/A/N/S-4)
  • Recent experience planning and executing combined and joint operations at the theater/CCMD/JTF or component level.
  • Familiarity with key stakeholders and organizations in the joint planning process or OCS Communities of Interest
  • Experience with data mining techniques and predictive modeling.
  • Knowledge of supply chain risk management principles and practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience applying Operations Research techniques to logistics, supply chain, or military operations is a plus.

Targeted Salary Range: $125,000-$152,000
