Job Summary:

The Partner Development Manager is a strategic, externally-facing role responsible for identifying, initiating, and nurturing growth opportunities across key partner verticals. This individual will work closely with vertical-specific Partner Sales Reps by opening doors, building relationships, and developing partner channels - including industry associations, networks, and key influencers.

The primary focus of this role is business development - identifying high-potential verticals and organizations, engaging early relationships, and handing off qualified partner opportunities for the sales team to convert and close.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Vertical Outreach: Research and target named high-opportunity verticals (Insurance/Brokers, PEOs, Safety Firms, HR Consultants, etc.) to initiate partnership conversations
  • Relationship Development: Build and manage relationships with leadership and staff within industry associations, member networks, and relevant professional groups.
  • Opportunity Origination: Identify and qualify high-potential partnership leads and coordinate smooth handoffs to assigned Partner Sales Reps
  • Channel Expansion: Source, propose, and initiate co-branded programs, training partnerships, or reseller/referral agreements
  • Event Strategy: Identify and coordinate event participation (trade shows, conferences, webinars) across verticals; collaborate with marketing on presence, sponsorship, and follow-up strategy
  • Pipeline Collaboration: Maintain and report on a shared partner development pipeline in coordination with sales and marketing leadership
  • Brand Advocacy: Serve as an external face of our solutions to industry groups, early-stage partners, and potential channels

The Individual:
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Self-starter who thrives in outreach, prospecting, and new relationship development
  • Experience in HR, EHS, compliance, or workforce training industries a plus

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years in partner development, business development, channel sales, or strategic partnerships
  • Experience working with associations, member-based organizations, or B2B alliances
