First American is seeking candidates for an engineering role in our Platform Engineering team. An ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, a product mindset, and takes a code-first approach for driving engineering best practices. As a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer, you will help design and implement our technical architecture, governance, and tooling used to deliver and operate the First American Cloud. The ideal candidate will have a firm grasp of Azure Networking, Security, PaaS platforms, and Governance with the ability to customize them to help our business remain secure and efficient.

What You'll Do:

  • Technical Ownership: End to end ownership of individual user stories. Assess and identify risks that may be present to achieving the team's larger goals. Document best practices and strategies regarding infrastructure deployment.

  • Quality & Security Focused: Drive implementation of functionally appropriate and technically sound Cloud resources meeting all quality & security standards.

  • Continuous Advancement: Assist the team in achieving ambitious goals, providing regular feedback with a relentless focus on the improvement of the Cloud platform.

What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years in the Azure Cloud.

  • Alignment between Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and scripting with PowerShell/Bash/ARM.

  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps (ADO), Github Enterprise, or Gitlab.

  • Command of infrastructure automation tooling such as Terraform/OpenTofu.

  • Experience with one or more Azure SDKs and/or CLI.

  • Expertise in Azure infrastructure and cloud native services such as AKS, Application Gateways, and Application Service Environments.

  • Knowledge of various git patterns such as GitFlow and trunk-based development.

  • Bias towards working within a highly regulated industry such as Financial Services or Healthcare.

Technical Skills:

  • PowerShell, Bash, YAML, AzCli.

  • Azure Monitor.

  • Azure Network Security and Firewalls.

  • Azure PaaS and IaaS services.

  • Azure Networking - VNET/ExpressRoute/VPN gateway/Virtual WAN.

  • Azure Governance and Access Control tools and best practices.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong relationship, collaborative, and organization skills.

Pay Range: $109,650 - $184,938 Annually

This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
