Warehouse Lead
Shift: 1st shift, Monday -Thursday (7.30am-4pm), Friday (6am - 2.30pm)
Pay: $21-$23/hour
Job Description:
Please note that strong Excel knowledge and other computer skills are required for this position. * We are looking for Excel experience: how to work with multiple spreadsheets, to input, sort, filter, calculate, and analyze data. * IBS or AS400 knowledge is a plus. POSITION OBJECTIVE: Plans, organizes, and monitors the receiving, storage, and distribution of all items received either from suppliers or the production department to ensure a smooth and consistent operation so parts and supplies are located and distributed to proper departments effectively and efficiently as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements. QUALIFICATIONS: * High school graduate or equivalent * 3 years of office experience, working with Excel (working with multiple spreadsheets, to input, sort, filter, calculate, and analyze data). * 1 year of packing experience and 3 years' experience in a shipping / receiving manufacturing environment preferred. * Capable of driving a forklift well and safely. * Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control. * Ability to work across various departments in a manufacturing facility. * Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary. * Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Reviews bills of lading for incoming merchandise and customer orders. * Get quotes for different types of shipping, create BOLs and other shipping documents, and reports. * Coordinates warehouse activities with sales, customer service, record control, and purchasing departments to ensure availability. * Oversees reclamation of damaged merchandise. * Directly supervises employees in the Shipping / Receiving Department. * Maintains staffing levels, assigns workers to specific tasks, and motivates employees to exceed performance expectations. * Manages all processes and functions to support inventory accuracy in finished goods, raw materials, and receiving accuracy. * Keeps good communication by monitoring daily operations and alerting management of concerns or opportunities. * Adheres to all company policies and establishes operational procedures for shipment verification, merchandise handling, and inventory management. * Provides appropriate equipment and racking for safe transport and storage, and prepares work orders for repairs or equipment replacement. * Evaluates the effectiveness of storage layout to ensure its optimal alignment for maximum efficiency as inventory requires. * Initiates and establishes effective process improvements to drive continuous yearly advancements. WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION: * Ability to work in hot environment, humid in the summer months, and cold in the winter months. |
