The Digital Marketing Director is a key leadership role within Jel Sert's marketing team, responsible for developing and executing the strategy across paid, owned, and earned digital channels. This position will lead digital growth initiatives that elevate brand awareness, drive ecommerce success, and enhance consumer engagement.

In addition to setting cross-channel strategies, this role manages and mentors a team of three direct reports covering social media, content development, and marketing technology, ensuring alignment with brand objectives and performance KPIs. The ideal candidate brings a blend of creative vision, data-driven decision-making, and people leadership, with a passion for digital innovation in the food and beverage space.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Strategy & Leadership - 20%



  • Define and implement the digital marketing strategy across paid, owned, and earned media channels to support brand growth and ecommerce sales.
  • Lead and manage a team of three direct reports:

    • Social Media Manager
    • Content Designer
    • Marketing Technologist


  • Ensure cross-functional collaboration across Marketing, Ecommerce, Sales, and IT.


Paid Media Oversight - 25%




  • Lead the strategic planning, execution, and optimization of paid digital media campaigns in alignment with brand, sales, and ecommerce priorities.
  • Channels include:

    • Paid Search: Google Ads
    • Paid Social: Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms - working closely with Brand Marketing on creative direction and with Digital Commerce on lower-funnel and retargeting activations.
    • Display & Programmatic: Including direct buys, DSP campaigns, and retail media extensions (ie.Walmart.com, Instacart, etc.).
    • Influencer Partnerships: Paid amplification of influencer content to drive reach and conversion.


  • Partner with Brand, Licensing, Digital Commerce, and external agencies to:

    • Align creative and targeting strategies with brand voice and campaign objectives.
    • Ensure in-flight agility for budget allocation and campaign adjustments based on performance.
    • Track and report on KPIs including awareness, engagement and collaborate with Digital Commerce on tracking ROAS, CPA, and revenue lift.




Owned Media Execution - 25%



  • Manage content strategy and execution for owned channels, including:

    • Website (updates, UX, SEO)
    • Potential future email marketing and lifecycle campaigns
    • Brand storytelling in partnership with brand teams and content hierarchy


  • Guide the team in maintaining a consistent brand voice and visual identity across digital channels.


Earned Media & Community Engagement - 20%



  • Guide social and community engagement strategy, including influencer and user-generated content.
  • Support PR amplification efforts and digital extensions of campaign activations.


Analytics & Optimization - 10%



  • Define KPIs and reporting frameworks to measure performance across all digital efforts.
  • Drive continuous improvement through A/B testing, audience segmentation, and conversion analysis.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly dashboards for leadership review.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.



  • Proven experience in digital marketing strategy, campaign execution, and team leadership.
  • Track record of managing performance-based media, content initiatives, and digital channel optimization.
  • Proficient in interpreting digital marketing data to make informed decisions.
  • Experience in people management, mentoring, and performance coaching.
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce dynamics, shopper journeys, and brand positioning.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in digital marketing roles, including at least 5 years of management experience.
  • Experience in the CPG or food & beverage industry highly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of tools and platforms such as Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager, Amazon Ads, Klaviyo, Salsify, and Shopify.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Deep understanding of digital channel mix and consumer behavior across platforms.
  • Skilled in project management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proficient with reporting dashboards, marketing automation, and campaign management tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with limited layers.
  • Understanding of A+ content creation or digital merchandising best practices.
  • Experience with tools such as Shopify, Workfront, or other marketing operations platforms.
  • Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving and project management abilities.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit.
  • Ability to optimize website content, including responsive/mobile-friendly image formatting.


BENEFITS & SALARY

The Jel Sert Company is committed to pay transparency and will provide further compensation information during the interview process. minimum compensation for the Digital Marketing Director is $116,734 annually. This position is also eligible for the EBIT Bonus program. Compensation is determined by a candidate's experience, education, skills, training, and the internal equity within our organization. Actual compensation to be paid will be determined upon an offer.
