Job Summary

The Vice President, Government Affairs & Public Policy is a strategic executive leader responsible for developing and executing Masimo's global government affairs and public policy strategies. This role is instrumental in shaping the legislative, regulatory, and reimbursement landscape to advance Masimo's mission, protect its interests, and ensure patient access to its innovative healthcare technologies. The VP will build and maintain strong relationships with key policymakers, legislative bodies, regulatory agencies, and industry associations worldwide, providing strategic counsel to executive leadership on policy implications and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities



  • Develop and implement comprehensive government affairs and public policy strategies aligned with Masimo's business objectives and long-term vision.
  • Lead Masimo's engagement with legislative bodies, government agencies, and policymakers at federal, state, and international levels to advocate for the company's positions and priorities.
  • Monitor, analyze, and interpret legislative and regulatory developments impacting the healthcare, medical device, and technology sectors, providing timely insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Build and nurture strong, credible relationships with key external stakeholders, including elected officials, government staff, regulatory authorities, industry trade associations, and patient advocacy groups.
  • Represent Masimo in public forums, industry coalitions, and policy discussions to advance the company's reputation and influence policy outcomes.
  • Manage and oversee external lobbying firms and consultants, ensuring alignment with Masimo's objectives and compliance with all relevant lobbying laws and ethics regulations.
  • Provide strategic counsel to internal teams (e.g., R&D, Clinical, Commercial, Legal) on the potential impact of public policy and regulatory changes on product development, market access, and commercialization strategies.
  • Drive initiatives related to reimbursement policy and health economics advocacy to ensure favorable market access for Masimo's technologies.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, position papers, and policy briefs to internal and external audiences.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, Business, or a related field; Master's degree or Juris Doctor (JD) strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in government affairs, public policy, or a related field, with significant experience in the healthcare, medical device, or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully influencing legislative and regulatory outcomes at federal and/or international levels.
  • Deep understanding of the legislative and regulatory processes in key global markets (e.g., U.S., EU, APAC).
  • Extensive network of contacts within government, regulatory bodies, and relevant industry associations.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $238,000 - $297,000 plus benefits. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience. This position also qualifies for up to 30% annual bonus based on Company, department, and individual performance.
