Job Description

Pay Range: $100,658.80 -$111,441.15

The Plant Engineer will provide engineering support and project leadership for the plant The expectation is that this role will spend approximately 60% of the time on project related activities and 40% of the time on plant support activities. At times either activity could exceed expectation. The Plant Engineer I role will include project implementation, production and equipment improvement initiatives and support the daily operations of the plant to ensure all safety and quality goals are achieved.

  1. Project management, project planning, project coordinator, purchasing, and supervision of contractors for various projects to assure completion on a timely basis within budget.
  1. Adhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP requirements.
  1. Lead and assist management with appropriate training to assure regulatory compliance.
  1. Report to the Director of Engineering with a dotted line to the Plant Manager.
  1. Maintain appropriate communication/relationships with all employees, vendors, visitors.
  1. Provide the necessary safety training to contractors and others as necessary.
  1. Follow, monitor, and ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, environmental, GMP rules, regulations, and policies.
  1. Attend daily production/quality meetings.
  1. Provide technical support for plant processes and improvements.
  1. Observe facility operations and assist with problem solving on a regular basis.
  1. Assist management with appropriate training to assure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications

Education:BS degree in engineering or technical related area from an accredited college/university; Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical preferred

Related Experience:Proven Engineering experience of 3 - 5 years

Equipment/Software Skills:Working knowledge in personal computers (Microsoft software necessary, Project management, Microsoft Project preferred) and basic understanding with Allen Bradley PLC. Knowledge of CMMS such as MP2 is a plus. Must have good working knowledge of general PC systems.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:None required, any maintenance related licenses would be a plus such as PE, ASME welding, PLC's , wastewater, etc.

Additional Information

Physical: Ability to walk distances across facility, climb steps and ladders on occasions, sitting at office desk work, sometimes in cooler atmosphere ( 35-45 degrees) , sometimes in engine room ( + 95 degrees in hot months).

Sensory: Ability to hear, see, speak, smell and touch well is necessary to perform basic essential task.

Mental/Reasoning: Basic problem solving skills are necessary
