Job Title: Prefabrication Manager

Role Summary:

Oversee and coordinate prefabrication shop operations, ensuring efficient production, safety, quality, and alignment with field construction projects. Manage staff, subcontractors, and vendors while promoting continuous improvement and a lean manufacturing culture.


Key Responsibilities:




  • Coordinate work between craft, subcontractors, vendors, and field project teams.



  • Ensure adherence to safety programs, including training, audits, and incident investigations.



  • Manage staff performance, training, recruitment, and mentorship.



  • Plan and schedule prefabrication projects, including manpower, materials, and timelines.



  • Monitor quality, documentation, and compliance with specifications and codes.



  • Inspect work in progress and resolve prefabrication issues with engineering or field teams.



  • Maintain shop and yard facilities, including equipment upkeep and safety.



  • Promote lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency.



  • Implement standard processes, visual controls, and KPI tracking for productivity and quality.



  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional workshops.



  • Collaborate with engineering, planning, and operations to optimize workflows.



  • Support diversity and inclusion initiatives.



  • Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring compliance with company policies.




Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field plus 7 years of relevant construction or manufacturing experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.



  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and current safety standards.



  • Experience in fabrication, industrial construction, manufacturing, or operations management.



  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience.



  • Heavy industrial experience preferred.



  • Ability to read and interpret project specifications, manuals, safety rules, and operating procedures.



  • Effective communication skills to address teams, clients, and stakeholders.



  • Proven skills in training, mentoring, performance management, and team development.



  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, and process optimization.



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Oracle Primavera P6 and accounting software preferred.



  • Must meet company driving requirements.
