AUSTIN OAKS HOSPITAL is currently hiring a Utilization Review Coordinator for the UR department. Responsible for admission and continued stay reviews. Serves as liaison with medical staff and other clinical departments. Obtains authorizations for admission and continued stay, appeals in appropriate reimbursement denials.Ability to communicate ideas both verbally and in writing. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Thorough knowledge of utilization review principles and procedures including state, federal, and JCAHO regulations, data collections, techniques, medical analysis, insurance payer systems and cost containment methods.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree required, Social Work, Counseling, or related field.
• Preferred Masters degree; Social Work, Counseling, or related field.
• Current CPR
• Preferred Licensed Mental Health Professional; LPC, LMSW, LCSW or RN.
• A working knowledge of behavioral health management practices and clinical operations.
• An advanced knowledge of state and federal regulatory and various accreditation requirements related to behavioral health management.
• Required: Minimum of two (2) years professional experience in a health care setting, preferably inpatient. Minimum of two (2) years experience in UR.
• Preferred: Five years experience in mental health in an inpatient facility. Five years UR experience.
