Our Platform Integration Development team is looking for a Senior Manager. This team builds and supports back-end services for our mobile and online banking applications. We develop first-class APIs that integrate both Jack Henry and third-party fintech products. Our engineers are proficient in the latest technologies and deploy code rapidly, so you'll quickly see the impact of your team's efforts.

As a senior leader, you may focus on a single critical/complex domain or lead multiple teams with team leads. Your role is both tactical and strategic. It will include implementing and contributing to programs and initiatives led by directors, senior technical staff and strategic owners.

You will directly manage engineering managers and high-level engineers, leading a team of approximately 20 individuals. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills, as they will be responsible for code reviews and maintaining technical proficiency in their areas of focus. Additionally, you will leverage your strong interpersonal skills and strategic vision to foster effective team collaboration and ensure milestones are met.

This position can be based to work out of any Jack Henry office or remotely from any US location. Salary range is $120-180k, depending on candidate experience and geographic location.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Leadership & Guidance:
    1. Coach and mentor direct reports, fostering professional growth.
    2. Develop team members through clear objectives, feedback, and career plans.
    3. Collaborate with technical leaders to uphold engineering culture and values.
    4. Attract and retain talent by promoting ownership, learning, and feedback.
  • Technical Capabilities:
    1. Lead architectural/technical decisions with engineers/architects for scalable solutions.
    2. Guide continuous improvement and oversee quality, performance, and best practices.
    3. Partner with product/leadership to define technical roadmap and priorities.
  • Strategic & Operational Oversight:
    1. Oversee complex technical domains/multiple engineering teams
    2. Partner with Product Management on technical feasibility, cost, and timelines.
    3. Uphold security, stability, quality and performance for all software.
  • Team & Project Facilitation
    1. Proactively remove blockers for efficient team execution.
    2. Clearly communicate project status, risks, and progress to stakeholders.
    3. Ensure team alignment with organizational priorities.
    4. Monitor team capacity/velocity to forecast delivery and staffing needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to have:

  • A minimum of 7 years of hands-on software development experience.
  • Experience as a manager or supervisor of a technical team.
  • Experience with GCP.
  • Experience with APIs and microservices.
  • Experience programming in Go in a professional environment.
  • Ability to be on call to troubleshoot major issues.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% for team meetings, training events, and conferences.
