Join us as our new Process Engineer

This role plays a key part in advancing sustainable protein technology and shaping the future of the plant-based food industry. The Food Recovery Process Engineer will be responsible for developing and optimizing processes to separate, concentrate, and deliver advanced proteins for the plant-based food industry. The Process Engineer will interact daily with key stakeholders to ensure product flows efficiently through the plant, perform batch reviews to make sure product meets all quality specs and determine opportunities for improvement. Process Engineers will manage projects of multiple sizes for continuous improvement or capacity needs. This role operates in a highly collaborative fast-paced environment.

In this role you'll make an impact by:
  • Optimizing process and equipment performance to improve yield, quality, cost, and delivery.

  • Providing technical knowledge and leadership for process and operational improvements and for technical change projects.

  • Supporting the relevant legal requirements for Novonesis policies and standards.

  • Supporting technical training and certification of operators and relevant staff personnel.

  • Developing and maintaining Standard Operational Procedures, checklists, forms and training manuals.

  • Developing process, operational and equipment better practices.

  • Leading and/or sponsoring capital projects and following up on performance and completion.

  • Preparing presentations and written status reports to ensure technical information is appropriately communicated and archived.

  • Driving plant performance improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, and statistical analysis tools.

  • Ensuring the Novonesis Quality, Environmental, and Safety Policies are adhered to with changes to processes, equipment, and laboratory materials.

To succeed you must hold:
  • BS/MS in chemical or biological engineering.

  • Preferred 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in GMP-regulated industries such as food, biotech, or pharma.

  • Experience with process modeling, statistical analysis, or project management tools is a plus.

  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and collaborative qualities.

Expected Starting Salary:
  • 77k -106k based on experience
