Job Description: We're actively seeking a talented Senior IT Solution Analyst to join our Finance Data Delivery team in Newport Beach, CA. We are looking for self-starters to help shape the future of our data engineering team and drive data-driven success As a Senior IT Solution Analyst you'll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by analyzing and designing processes for various Enterprise Finance functions. Your colleagues will include Data Engineers, Data Architects, fellow Analysts and Enterprise Finance team members. The team is multidisciplinary and delivering data that enables our Enterprise Finance data processes end-to-end, including Accounting & Reporting and Financial Planning & Analysis. As part of the Finance Data Delivery team, you'll directly support technical leads and collaborate with business stakeholders and technology teams to provide analysis and solution design for key initiatives. How you'll help move us forward:
- Contribute to strategic, cross-functional initiatives by conceptualizing complex business problems and business objectives into actionable solutions that deliver cost-effective innovative data solutions.
- Gather and analyze business requirements, industry best-practices and technical information to help design and support information technology solutions as a bridge between people, process and technology.
- Understand the connection between Enterprise and Divisional Finance teams and the interrelated data requirements to support all Enterprise Finance functions as a cross-functional liaison and interpreter.
- Document technical & functional requirements - serve as the liaison between the business and technology regarding new business solutions or enhancements to existing business solutions. Responsible for collaborating with all levels of business and technology teams.
- Understand the business area's strategy, customers, team structures, challenges and organizational relationships (internal and external).
- Understand the technology that impacts the business area and the related baseline operational expectations.
- Partner with other technology teams to ensure business strategies and operational expectations are met or exceeded.
- Analyze complex business processes to make improvements and developsolution design approaches:
- Contribute to discovery activities.
- Lead / participate inbuilding business capability roadmaps and process improvements.
- Perform Fit/Gap Analysis.
- Document Functional designspecifications and business requirements.
- Partner with Quality Assurance to build automated testing capabilities.
- Lead User Acceptance Testing and ensure exit criteria is met.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, technology architects, various stakeholders and fellow analysts to design, manage implementation and support complex business and technology solutions.
- Provide project oversight in support of project management through monitoring and assessment of project status and actively work to mitigate risks.
- Maintain core documentation relating to process flows, data dictionaries and other key deliverables, from a Business and Technical perspective.
The experience you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or IT related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in analyzing and profiling data using tools such as SQL
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Visio, Lucid Chart.
- Experience supporting business analytics and/or data visualization projects.
- Experience documenting business, functional, and technical requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and solid written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work with and understand data.
- Outcome focused and ability to make progress independently.
What makes you stand out:
- Good understanding of Enterprise Finance functions such as Financial Close, Consolidation, Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Exposure to Snowflake
- Exposure to Finance and/or Actuarial disciplines.
- Experience with PowerBI, Tableau or other visualization tools.

The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
