GENERAL FUNCTION


The Quality Assurance Technician II is responsible for performing daily product and process quality related functions including process audits, AR testing, data collection and analysis with expectations to use such data to implement continuous improvements in product and process quality.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Performs trend analysis for manufacturing and inbound inspection frame product alerts.
  • Researches and resolves in-process production issues, calling on lab QA support for further testing as needed.
  • Acts as key resource for data collection, summary, and reporting.
  • Assists Customer Service as needed with quality issues.
  • Assists with frame fit and lens manufacturability issues.
  • Performs Lens Validations/Lens Verifications for new lens styles.
  • Performs AR testing as required.
  • Problem-solves issues using root cause analysis, collecting data and prioritizing data delivery as necessary. Identifies improvement opportunities and makes adjustments to the Lab Management System database as needed to reduce breakage across the network.
  • Creates and implements product audits.
  • Acts as key resource for inbound inspection activities.
  • Monitors lens bevel angles for edger wheel wear.
  • Leads process improvement teams as needed.
  • Performs process and quality audits.

BASIC (REQUIRED) QUALIFICATIONS



  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in optical manufacturing with product and process knowledge
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Sound optical knowledge.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of process control including trend analysis
  • Knowledge and understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and concepts

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Some college coursework
  • ABO Certification
  • Experience in process/product improvement initiatives
