We're actively seeking a talented Operations Training Manager to join our Training and Documentation team in Newport Beach, CA or Omaha, NE.

  • This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.

As an Operations Training Manager you'll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by guiding the planning, design, coordination, facilitation, and evaluation of business content-focused training within the Operations teams. You will fill a new role in the Consumer Markets Division (CMD).

How you'll help move us forward:

Core Work Oversight

  • Builds training development roadmaps and partners with stakeholders; ensures timelines are met and updates Director on challenges.
  • Conducts regular performance reviews of training initiatives, identifies trends through data analysis, and delivers actionable recommendations that measurably improve process efficiency and service outcomes.
  • Ensures critical resources, including IT onboarding requirements, are in place to deliver a seamless training experience across all teams
  • Aligns work with Operations guidelines, documents stakeholder needs, evaluates impacts, and tracks decisions. Ensure tasks stay within scope and collaborate enterprise-wide for consensus and sustainability.
  • Implements structured feedback mechanisms (e.g., post-training surveys, stakeholder interviews) to continuously refine training content, delivery methods, and team performance.
  • Serve as an Instructional Designer when needed, setting the standard for the team by identifying key program components, crafting engaging narratives, and developing effective learning solutions. Consistently integrates Operations' guiding principles and objectives, ensuring all content is relevant and aligned with organizational messaging.

Department Performance, Culture, and Development

  • Proactively develops and communicates short term (1-2 year) directional plans for the department.
  • Builds and leads a cohesive, high-performing team, ensuring on-boarding, comprehensive department training, career development, and performance management strategies are effectively executed.
  • Effectively cascades organizational objectives and information, fostering positive adaptation to change and inclusion within the department.
  • Gathers 360 feedback from stakeholders and staff to guide individual development and address areas for growth.
  • Identifies trends impacting teams' ability to meet performance objectives and ensures solutions are developed to address obstacles.

The experience you bring:

  • 8+ years of increasing responsibility in operations with focus in operations training, process improvement, or related field.
  • Experience creating learning materials to support new hire and ongoing training of operations functions, procedures, and processes.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and change management.
  • Familiarity with operations environments, including production and quality metrics, process-driven training needs, and customer service principles.
  • Able to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse groups of people and various position levels.
  • Must be able to plan and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Must be comfortable working in an environment of change.
  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience.

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$134,280.00 - $164,120.00
