Duties, Responsibilities & Other

As a Data Support Specialist, you will:

    Interpret engineering plans and related documents to georeference, digitize, and compile attributes of physical features
  • Perform editing tasks including loading, extracting, reconciling, and compilating data
  • Perform data quality control tasks
  • Implement efficient data collection strategies
  • Perform required data cleaning and manipulation prior to analyses
  • Identify and troubleshoot data problems or unexpected results and provide solutions to resolve identified concerns
  • Work within and make appropriate updates to existing schemas
  • Support analysis and presentation of data
  • Identify, extract, clean, transform, validate, and model data using various technologies and languages
  • Collect information in the desktop and field environment
  • Perform field verification utilizing data collection applications
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of managers, analysts, engineers, and customers to identify and develop project-specific workflows and how best to present them
  • Work onsite at customer office locations and in the field, as needed
  • Stay current on latest technologies and methods
  • Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
  • Complete other duties as required/assigned

Specialized Experience

  • Experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS or ArcPro is preferred
  • Ability to interpret utility and transportation engineering plans
  • Ability to utilize ESRI Field Maps, Survey123, ArcGIS Online, and/or other custom applications to perform duties
  • Ability to learn Python and/or Arcade


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Geography, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field is required. Experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Experience in utilities, facilities, transportation, water, construction, and/or state/local government markets is preferred
  • Knowledgeable of data analysis methods and techniques
  • Knowledge and understanding of relational databases
  • Familiarity with current data and analytics platforms and tools
  • Demonstrated experience to learn quickly and apply new technologies to solve problems
  • Ability to develop and maintain deep knowledge of customers, data, business, and markets
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well with colleagues and customers, both written and oral
  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
