Overview

CAES is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineering Intern that will be responsible for supporting Operations in a fast-paced work environment and providing engineering guidance on design solutions that will help meet our customer needs.

Responsibilities include assisting the creation and maintenance of process documentation, inspecting and assessing defective hardware, maintaining production fixtures and tools, optimizing production flow to meet program deliverables, and supporting the production function on technical issues that arise. This position is located in Lansdale, PA and supports our Antenna Products and/or our Integrated Radio Frequency Solutions value streams.


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports production and manufacturing engineering by performing tasks and projects as assigned.
  • Works with Manufacturing Engineers, Operators, and related functions to review and update manufacturing processes and documentation.
  • Assists in improving product flow and reducing touch time for existing products.
  • Assists in releasing new products into the production environment.
  • Assists in programming production or inspection equipment and verifying programs on production hardware.
  • Other departmental and manufacturing related tasks as required.

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain an understanding of a manufacturing environment and the associated capabilities, constraints, and challenges.
  • Understand the role of Manufacturing Engineering in the design and production process.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering In-Progress (Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, Antenna, or Electrical Engineering.)
  • Three (3+) years of experience with MS Suite (Word, Excel, and Power Point.)
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license.

Preferred:

  • Sophomore/Junior level.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Solidworks or similar 3D modelling software.
  • Experience with tooling and fixture design.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques and principles.
