Emplify Health by Gundersen Health System is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Manager to lead our Clinical Research team in La Crosse, WI. This pivotal role will oversee the delivery of specialized clinical services within the Research Institute, manage day-to-day operations, budgeting, staffing, and staff development. This Manager will have about 21 direct reports and will report directly to the Director of the Research Institute, Sponsored Programs Office, and Bioethics. The Clinical Manager works collaboratively with the Medical Director to advance departmental and unit strategic goals.

The Clinical Manager will collaborate closely with organizational partners, external groups, and community entities invested in enhancing patient access to clinical trials. The Manager will also plan, organize, staff, direct, and control activities across various research areas, which may include pharmaceutical research, clinical outcomes research, oncology research, and research support services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organizational Strategy and Implementation -- Understanding market trends and the impact on their AOR, contributing to AOR strategic and operational plans, translating these plans, and ensuring the understanding, alignment, and commitment of AOR staff.

  • Fiscal Management -- Effectively using established processes to ensure accountability for effective operations and resource management.

  • Human Resource Management -- Effectively using established processes to: select, align, engage, develop, manage, and retain a team of highly skilled staff.

  • Excellence in Service and Clinical Quality -- Achieving seamless delivery of quality patient care and safety, excellence in patient experience and customer service.

  • Organizational Leadership -- Providing leadership and accomplishing objectives by ensuring the integration of processes and initiatives while modeling collaboration.

  • Maintains accountability for implementation of requirements of regulatory agencies

  • Serves as liaison to the community

  • Duties and responsibilities as defined by specific department (if applicable)

What's Available:

  • Full-time

  • Location: On-site in La Crosse, WI with office located at the main campus clinic

  • Schedule: Hours typically between Monday-Friday days with willingness to work outside standard hours as business needs require

  • This position does have responsibility to oversee the "on-call" process and participate in a call rotationabout every 7-8 weeks

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • Experience: 3-5 years of prior leadership and/or managerial experience. 3-5 years of prior health care, research, or related experience.

  • Leadership & Team Management:Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

  • Collaboration:Works well with cross-functional teams and fosters a cooperative work culture.

  • Communication:Strong verbal and written communication skills
