Director of Compliance
Location: Omaha, NE
Position Summary
Fortis Healthcare Solutions, a leading healthcare staffing company, is seeking an experienced Director of Compliance to oversee and ensure adherence to credentialing, regulatory, and quality standards for healthcare professionals nationwide. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage both in-office and remote compliance teams while maintaining industry-leading standards and ensuring smooth onboarding and credentialing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the compliance and credentialing department, overseeing day-to-day operations.
Supervise both in-office employees and a remote team, ensuring productivity, accountability, and seamless collaboration.
Oversee credentialing and re-credentialing processes, ensuring timely completion of applications and updates.
Ensure proper Primary Source Verification (PSV) for all licensing, board certifications, liability insurance, and other required documentation in accordance with NCQA standards and company policies.
Oversee Joint Commission compliance, reporting, and recertifications to maintain accreditation and meet audit requirements.
Ensure accurate and timely state reporting in alignment with all applicable regulatory requirements.
Maintain and monitor the credentialing database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
Develop and deliver compliance reports to executive leadership, highlighting key metrics and addressing areas of concern.
Stay current with state, federal, and industry regulations to ensure policies and procedures meet or exceed standards.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and company confidentiality policies at all times.
Foster a collaborative, results-driven culture focused on accuracy, timeliness, and quality.
Provide ongoing training and mentorship to compliance team members to improve efficiency and regulatory knowledge.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (Master's preferred).
Minimum of five (5) years of compliance management experience, preferably in healthcare staffing or a related healthcare setting.
Proven leadership experience managing both in-office and remote teams, ensuring accountability and performance.
Strong understanding of NCQA standards, Joint Commission requirements, healthcare credentialing processes, and regulatory compliance practices.
Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and lead with integrity and accountability.
