We Require
Four years of professional civil engineering experience or in a related field Experience in the development of the design of public works civil projects, and the preparation of related construction plans and specifications (P&S). Experience in working with and directing consultants, contract management, developing budgets, and project schedules Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire

Registration as a professional engineer (PE) by the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration, or by the technical board of another state, with the ability to obtain Arizona Registration within six months of employment Experience with flood control projects
Job Contributions
Provide leadership, direction, and guidance in the development of projects; manage and coordinate consulting engineers, planners, contractors, and other staff to assure the proper execution of all phases of the program and projects Plan the work and direct the development of the project design, scope of work, schedules, budgets, criteria, standards, and specifications; resolve complex problems, and assure conformance to county, state, and Federal regulations Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including reviews of project plans, specifications, technical/design reports, cost estimates, public exhibits, alternative analyses, and other deliverables with in-house staff and project partners Prepare, negotiate, and maintain project authorizations, including MOUs, Resolutions, IGAs, and other associated project documents, coordinate the development of these authorizations with partners, and make presentations to various Boards on projects and project authorizations Present projects at public meetings and board meetings, evaluate stakeholder and public concerns, and ensure project status by working with stakeholders Participate in consultant selections and contract negotiations Other job duties as assigned
Working Conditions
This position is eligible for hybrid flexibility after a brief training period Exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently, or negligible amounts constantly, or requires walking or standing to a significant degree Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures, wetness/humidity, respiratory hazards, and noise and vibration
