About the Position If you are a creative and influential communications professional who thrives in building relationships and crafting public relations, consider applying to become our Constituent Services Officer!In this vital role, you'll be the voice of our department, developing and coordinating public relations, community education, and information programs. You will advise and assist management on public relations strategies and lead the way in crafting communications that inform and engage our constituents-the people we serve. Your work will involve building and maintaining relationships with community groups and county officials on behalf of the Director of Critical Communications. By doing this, you'll ensure our department's public outreach goals and the needs of our community are met. You'll also be the authority on all written material for the department. From training materials for staff to communications with the public, your words will matter. You will also oversee key programs that directly impact the community, including the Deputy Registrar (DR) Program, the Junior Deputy Registrar Program, the Senior Living DR Outreach, serving as the STAR liaison, and other programs as necessary. About Us The Maricopa County Recorder's Office (MCRO) is responsible for maintaining the Maricopa County voter registration records and for administering over elections in partnership with the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. We Require
One year of professional constituent relations, public relations, communications, or journalism experience Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Public Administration, Education or a related field A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
Other Requirements
Must complete the next scheduled Secretary of State Election Officer Certification Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire Must be eligible to vote in Arizona and pass an applicable background screening

Experience and work samples in Graphic design and Adobe Photoshop Experience working on elections communications, customer and community outreach, policy or administration issues, or experience working in a government agency. Job Contributions
Assists in the development of constituent correspondence and response, including, but not limited to, Public Records Requests and Voter Registration - to include managing the VotinerInfo inbox. Assists in the development and execution of plans to promote the agency's message and information to the public via earned and social media strategies and paid advertising campaigns. Researches, writes, and coordinates the design of direct marketing materials (press releases, mailers, flyers, newsletters, etc.) for internal and external distribution. Manages and responds to requests by media representatives for interviews and information. Develops content for departmental social media sites and department websites, including internal communications. Maintains and updates information for the public and media representatives while ensuring data is relevant, reachable, informative, and current. Writes scripts or presentations for marketing agency programs and services. Works within theagency budget and monitors expenditures while providing quality marketing products. Works collaboratively with representatives of other agencies, both public and private, concerning agency programs and activities Coaches and prepares elected officials and staff with subject matter expertise on interview skills and talking points. Oversees Deputy Registrar program. Assumes growth and increased readership. Oversees STAR program. Assumes growth and increased participation with Recorder agency programs.
