The Alaka'ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Technical Support Specialist to support our government customer out of Maui, Hawai'i.

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance and support for MBSS IT Core Communications systems. This role supports end-users, networks, and communications systems (NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, VoIP, VoSIP), ensuring continuity of communications and mission readiness for the 15th Space Surveillance Squadron (15 SpSS).

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide qualified on-site technical support for configuration, installation, monitoring, troubleshooting, repair, preventative, and corrective maintenance of site IT and communications infrastructure, including peripherals, printers, software, MS programs, CISCO phone support, CCTV cameras and video teleconferencing systems.
  • Support the installation, integration, and sustainment of NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and JWICS LAN/WAN/VoIP/VoSIP systems.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for helpdesk operations: answer calls, emails, and Remedy/ServiceNow tickets, resolving issues within required timelines. Provide Tier I/II end-user support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and mission applications.
  • Support property accountability functions for IT equipment in DPAS, including floor-to-book inventories, tracking of critical spares, and compliance with FIAR audit requirements.
  • Assist with logistics coordination for IT-related equipment shipments, pickup and delivery of hardware across Maui sites and support inspection efforts.
  • Provide user training on local IT procedures, security requirements and rollouts of new helpdesk features.
  • Assist with Common Access Card (CAC) Support.
  • Support quality assurance, compliance audits, and required reporting deliverables.
  • Support emergency management, contingency operations, and 24hr on-call support for IT services.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Mindful to meet deadlines.
  • Supervise employees.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Environmental Factors: Works in indoor and outdoor environments that contain excessive heat, cold and humidity, excessive dampness, dust, solvents grease, oils, moving object or vehicles and slippery or uneven surfaces. Routinely will be working at over 10,000ft elevation.

Physical Effort: Frequently lifts items and equipment weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally over fifty pounds. Standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and stretching for prolonged periods will be necessary.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Security+ CE certification or higher.
  • Bachelor degree in IT or related field preferred

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in an IT support role or helpdesk position supporting a DoD installation.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows, Cisco, Linux, VoIP.
  • Experience ServiceNow or equivalent helpdesk ticketing systems.
  • Proficient in working with Microsoft Office Suit (TEAMs, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to write daily correspondence to the government customer.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and safely with others on common projects.
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces or elevated areas.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, as well as present training to small groups of employees.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • U.S. Military experience preferred.
  • Experience with CVC, CIPS, and EITSM systems.
  • Familiarity with DoD and Air Force communications infrastructure standards.

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have TS clearance
