Job Description

The Director of Readiness Programs is responsible for leading the development of strategic solutions associated with engineering and technical activities at S&A. This individual will provide expertise and leadership across multiple technical disciplines and provide mission systems integration solutions to support customers and/or for internal organizational purposes. He/she will ensure effective management of readiness activities within a functional area to support business or organizational change. S&A is seeking an individual who is forward-thinking, eager to contribute expertise and assistance in a variety of projects, and who operates with vision and integrity. The ideal candidate will seamlessly contribute to and/or lead both strategic and technical projects. The Director of Readiness Programs will be comfortable using his/her capabilities and expertise to support multiple roles and functions at S&A with minimal supervision or guidance.





  • Serve as a leader and/or subject matter expert in the engineering and technical discipline for a variety of projects to support customers and/or internal organizational activities.



  • Design strategies for future development projects based on the company's overall objectives and resources.



  • Provide disciplined, systematic, process-driven project management practices required to ensure S&A teams are ready to perform tasks, deliver products, provide services, or implement new processes for customers.



  • Align engineering activities and projects with company goals and objectives.



  • Analyze organizational readiness objectives for upcoming projects.



  • Identify technical impacts on projects as they relate to business requirements.



  • Create and maintain strong relationships with internal and external company stakeholders.



  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to support business and/or organizational change activities are planned and delivered effectively.



  • Drive and/or contribute to S&A's key performance indicators via strategic activities.



  • Plan, schedule, execute, and manage technical projects.



  • Understand the aggregate impact that programs, projects, and initiatives create and work with applicable representatives to determine the level of risk and associated mitigating actions.



  • Contribute to the development of tools and templates to manage readiness at both a project, program, and/or organizational level.



  • Apply and implement best practices with regard to engineering and technical methodologies as applicable to organizational systems and processes.



  • Provide technical guidance to engineering teams.



  • Support established organizational objectives by developing goals and strategies.



  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes and apply efficiencies.



  • Maintain both a strategic and technical mind-set with regard to planning and executing work.



  • Identify opportunities for integration of processes and activities.



  • Performs other related duties as assigned.



Job Requirements


  • In-depth knowledge of the Department of Defense (DoD) operations and business activities.



  • Ability to work with different groups of individuals at varying levels.



  • Leadership skills sufficient to drive improvements within an organization.



  • Experience engaging with senior ranking military and civilian service personnel.



  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.



  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills.



  • Extensive technical knowledge.



  • Must be able to work on many projects and tasks in parallel.



Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs)
*Bachelor's Degree is required. Master's Degree is preferred.
*At least 10 years of related experience.
