About the Opportunity

DMI, LLC is seeking a Windows Systems Administrator to join us to support the configuration, operation, and optimization of Windows-based environments with a strong focus on certificate services and PKI management. The role involves managing daily operations, troubleshooting complex system and network issues, and providing technical consultation and support to IT staff. The administrator will ensure secure and efficient system performance, lead certificate lifecycle management, and maintain compliance with enterprise standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

    Administer and support Windows Server environments, including Active Directory and related services.
  • Manage and maintain Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS), and enterprise certificates.
  • Oversee the issuance, renewal, revocation, and troubleshooting of digital certificates to ensure secure authentication and communication.
  • Plan, monitor, and optimize system performance and resource utilization; conduct capacity analysis and planning.
  • Provide assistance to users and applications in accessing and securely using business systems that rely on certificates.
  • Implement, configure, and test system and network changes including hardware, operating systems, and attached devices.
  • Monitor system and network health, evaluate utilization, and resolve operational issues.
  • Troubleshoot at both the physical (hardware-level) and logical (protocol-level, e.g., TLS, SSL) layers.
  • Participate in design, review, and implementation of secure network and system architectures for enterprise environments.
  • Maintain compliance with security and infrastructure standards, including communication protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, TLS/SSL).
  • Provide technical consultation, training, and support to IT staff regarding certificates, PKI, and secure system operations.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex system and communication issues related to certificates and encryption.


Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience in IT system design and/or sustainment

Required and Desired Skills/Certifications:

  • Proven experience as a Windows Systems Engineer with a focus on Active Directory, ADCS, and PKI.
  • Hands-on experience managing digital certificates, TLS/SSL, and secure authentication mechanisms.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration, group policies, and system configuration.
  • Familiarity with certificate lifecycle management tools and monitoring solutions.
  • Experience troubleshooting system, network, and encryption-related issues at multiple layers.
  • Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Clearance Requirements: Successful completion of a Public Trust background investigation and/or a Public Trust clearance.

Min Citizenship Status Required: Must be a U.S. Citizen

Physical Requirements: Onsite support at FTC Headquarters at least 2 times per week or as needed to meet the needs of the program
