Work Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift

Compensation: $38.84 - $38.84 /hourly

Tessera is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Electronics Technician I to support operations at USAFA. This entry-level role is responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of electronic systems and equipment used across campus facilities. The technician plays a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of mission-critical infrastructure through hands-on support and collaboration with senior technicians and engineers.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with installation, setup, and calibration of electronic systems including communication and control equipment
  • Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance on electronic devices
  • Troubleshoot and repair basic system faults under supervision, using schematics and technical manuals
  • Document service activities, test results, and maintain inventory of tools and equipment
  • Collaborate with senior technicians on upgrades and ensure compliance with safety and USAFA standards
  • Respond to service requests and support emergency repairs as needed

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in electronics maintenance, troubleshooting, or installation
  • Associate degree in electronics, electrical engineering technology, or a related field preferred
  • Technical certifications in electronics, HVAC controls, or building automation systems are highly desirable
  • Familiarity with basic electronic theory, circuit analysis, and diagnostic tools
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
  • Basic understanding of electronic components, wiring, and system functionality
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance for this position.
  • A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.
