The CNC Programmer works under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager with minimum supervision. Is responsible for CNC machine programming, training, fixture/tool design and associated preventative/reactive maintenance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Qualifications Associate's degree in a related technical field, and 5+ years related experience or HS diploma, and 10+ years related experience preferred. Must be able to read complex blueprints, technical drawings, bills of material, assembly instructions utilized to build units, assemblies, and parts. Ability to use measuring equipment - calipers, height gauges, micrometers etc. Ability to work hands on within the production environment. Familiar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team/collaborative environment. Experience with operating and maintaining CNC machinery, including routine maintenance and repairs Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM software Proficiency in G-code and Macro-B syntax and structure preferred Basic knowledge in SCL and JavaScript (or similar) for PLC and post processor development preferred but not required. Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred), ERP systems (Epicor preferred), general office applications (MS Office preferred) and CNC programming (PowerMill preferred) Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers Kaman is an equal opportunity employer.
