The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for an Electronic Technician B - Electronic Warfare to provide support for our government customer in O'ahu, Hawai'i.
With minimum supervision, individual will perform as directed, the operation, and maintenance of electronic systems in the Electronic Warfare and Frequency Control environment at PMRF'S Ford Island Facility.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Able to function in a wide range of assignments by following established procedures.
- Maintains, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, modifies, calibrates, removes, and installs equipment, and other assigned duties as directed with minimum supervision.
- Prepares and submits reports and Daily Equipment Logs electronically.
- Must possess a thorough understanding and application of the following Electronic Warfare equipment: FTS, PTES, AN/DPT/AN/UPT series equipment; PARS / Silver box modulators; GRIFFIN; AN/DLQ/AN/ULQ series equipment; communication systems; PADS; PADS LITE; STE Systems; PMRF tracking aids, ie; LATR, Beacons, and all other assigned operations and test support equipment. To include FIC systems, Low and High Band Spinning Direction Finding systems; Response Monitoring system.
- Performs as an FTS operator to fly onboard U.S. Navy aircraft.
- Perform installations and checkout of EW Systems and tracking devices on Range vessels and aircraft.
- Supports EW and Frequency Interference Control (FIC) operations.
- Performs and documents periodic inspections and maintenance tasks in accordance with published procedures and/or OEM guidelines and schedules.
- Troubleshoots and repairs systems/equipment by using simple and complex test equipment.
- Installs, checks, calibrates and performs acceptance tests on new and relocated systems and equipment.
- Checks, packs, ships, install and operate portable EW/FIC systems/equipment at various remote locations.
- Provides operations and maintenance training to other technicians as required.
- Assists in preparing and developing new procedures, procedural changes and modification proposals.
- Prepares and submits periodic reports and Contract Data Requirements (CDR).
- Assists in training lower rated or new technicians in the day-to-day EW tasks.
- In addition to the above, performs other tasks as directed.
Office conditions are varied and include physical tasks including lifting, pushing or pulling over 50 pounds (with a 2-person assist). Physical positions will include but not be limited to walking, standing or sitting for extended periods of time, and crawling, kneeling or cramped work, requiring repeated stooping. The environment will include customer contact, extended workdays, in a confined work area, field assignments, sometimes in inclement weather.
REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Two (2) Year Technical School or equivalent training such as Navy "A" school or recognized correspondence course.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Five (5) years of progressive experience in a related field with a minimum of two (2) years' experience in the specific field of assignment.
- Able to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, technical manuals and related procedures, needed to operate, maintain, and overhaul/modify electronic equipment to the component level.
- Extensive knowledge in the use of test measurements and diagnostic equipment used in the repair of electronic equipment to the component level.
- Soldering certificate from a commercial firm, technical school or Navy school.
- Must possess the following PC skills: Word, Outlook, and Windows 7.
- Requires periodic travel via helicopter and commercial aircraft and overnight encampment at remote site.
REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Secret Security Clearance is required. Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret Clearance or will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.
