Now, we're entering a new phase of growth and are looking for a skilled sUAS Technician to join our team, contributing to the next wave of system and tool development for our upcoming product lines. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the engineering team in building, testing and troubleshooting sUAS systems and subsystems through PDWs product design life cycle.

What You'll Do

The ideal candidate will thrive working in an innovative and fast-paced work environment, able to deal with problems on the fly, and deliver thoughtfully designed and highly adaptable systems.


  • Collaborate with engineers to build and test prototype UAS systems, making necessary adjustments and improvements based on test results.
  • Document and maintain accurate test results, configuration changes, and maintenance logs in accordance with company processes.
  • Hand rework of prototype hardware for designated design and test requirements as well as released production modifications.
  • Support engineering developmental test, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

  • Assist with integration of sensors, avionics, and payloads into prototype and production UAS platforms.
  • Experience with soldering, crimping, and wiring harness assembly.


Requirements


  • Extensive experience in UAS, or drone, building and repair.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with attention for detail working with small parts, and assemblies.
  • Experience with soldering, crimping, and wiring harness assembly.
  • Prior sUAS and/or FPV assembly or experience including electronic troubleshooting.
  • Experience with 3D printers and their usage.
  • Handling of LiPo batteries and/or other energy sources.
  • Computer skills to include Windows and Linux based tools.
  • UAS piloting experience.


Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, and move about regularly throughout the day and lift / carry up to 25 pounds. Must have manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment.

Work Environment

This position may have exposure to outdoor weather conditions, noise, and non-climate-controlled environments. May require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) depending on the environment. This is a fast-paced work environment and requires cross departmental collaboration with independent and team-based responsibilities.

ITAR Requirement

In compliance with International Traffic Arms Regulations (ITAR), candidates must be U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents (Green Card holders) or individuals granted asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
