Description

Position: Development Coordinator

Department: Marketing and Development

Reports to: Head of Development & Marketing

Status: Exempt

Summary

Primarily responsible for researching, preparing, and submitting proposals to secure funding for Goodwill Keystone Area's programs and projects. Responsible for securing sponsorships, assisting with special events, and collaborating across departments.

Duties and Responsibilities



  • Research and identify funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Prepare clear and compelling grant proposals tailored to each opportunity.
  • Develop and manage budgets for proposed projects.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary information for proposals.
  • Track and meet proposal deadlines by establishing and maintaining schedules.
  • Exhibits comfortability with artificial intelligence (AI) programs to support development efforts.
  • Maintain electronic and paper records of all grant applications and related documents.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on grant writing activities and successes.
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements and regulations.
  • Secure sponsorships for programs, initiatives, and events.
  • Assist with planning and execution of special events and fundraising activities.
  • Represent Goodwill Keystone Area at special events, such as community outreach events, store grand openings, etc.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Assists marketing team, as needed, and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Promotes an environment of workplace safety. Ensures that duties are performed in a safe manner and safety requirements are adhered to.
  • Communicates progress, problems, and concerns to the Head of Development & Marketing.



Qualifications

Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Non-profit Management or relevant field; or Associates Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Non-profit Management with two (2) years' experience in the relevant field; or High School diploma or GED equivalent and four (4) years' relevant experience which enables the individual to meet the standards and expectations of the position.
  • Four (4) years' experience in relevant grant writing.
  • Two (2) plus years' experience working for a non-profit organization.
  • Familiarity with Goodwill Keystone Area's mission and programs.
  • Experience with budget management and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of grant compliance and regulations.
  • Experience securing sponsorships and supporting event planning.


Skills/Abilities/Qualifications



  • Proven experience as a grant writer or development coordinator, preferably in a non-profit organization.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task and manage a short turnaround time for select assignments.
  • Familiarity with Goodwill's mission and programs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and satisfactorily complete a motor vehicle check on an annual basis.
  • Ability to travel within Goodwill Keystone Area territory.
  • Ability to operate marketing department vehicle.
  • Ability to work outside of the normal work schedule with advance notice, as needed.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 20 pounds.
