What this job involves:

As a Maintenance Technician, you will operate, inspect, and maintain all HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems in assigned facilities to maximize operating efficiency and equipment lifespan. Your work directly supports JLL's mission by ensuring that facilities run safely, energy-efficiently, and with minimal downtime. Your strong technical expertise, timely preventive maintenance, and detailed record-keeping will help protect client assets and maintain operational excellence.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Oversee the preventative maintenance program, schedule activities with minimal disruption, and delegate tasks
  • Order parts and equipment for repairs and installations while maintaining inventory levels
  • Provide prompt and courteous responses to service requests in accordance with JLL and client guidelines
  • Assist the engineering team in protecting client assets and ensuring all systems function as intended
  • Perform building and utility maintenance: carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, millwright, and machinist work
  • Monitor the quality of work performed by contractors and junior staff
  • Work with contractors and provide access to restricted areas as directed by supervisors
  • Conduct and document daily building rounds and equipment readings
  • Minimize disruption during maintenance work and ensure proper cleanup
  • Review monthly service request summaries to identify and address recurring issues
  • Adhere to all JLL and regional company policies
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Four or more years of technical experience in building engineering with strong background in machinery, plumbing, electrical, equipment repair, and maintenance
  • Proficiency with computers and software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer)
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills with customers, contractors, and colleagues

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Electrical and/or Mechanical licenses

Physical Requirements:

  • Visual inspection capability for machinery and buildings
  • Frequent stair climbing for inspections and emergencies
  • Ability to climb ladders up to 40 feet
  • Ability to lift and carry 60 lbs repeatedly
  • Detection of emergency alarms (auditory/visual)
  • Operation of electric hand tools and motor vehicles
  • Ability to access challenging areas for inspection, including positions requiring hands and knees
