Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Coordinator II for the Office of Disability Services.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Assists with the facilitation and coordination of accommodations for eligible students in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1998, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments of 2008. This includes the appropriate and timely provision of exam and note taking services to students with disabilities.
- Ensures appropriate and timely provision of exam services to students with disabilities.
- Solves problems and resolve accommodation problems/ concerns as they arise.
- Works with exam administrators to ensure efficient, consistent delivery of services and delegate work to Office Assistants.
- Identifies and resolves student exam scheduling conflicts.
- Supports the coordination of common hour exams, midterms, and finals.
- Schedule flexibility is required as evening or weekend support will be needed.
- Provides peak period support to other units (e.g., front desk, coordinators, note-taking) as determined by student need.
- Participates in outreach events such as tabling and orientations.
- Supports office communications including creation of digital communications and responding to student, family, Rutgers community, and service provider phone and email outreach.
- Utilizes and maintains information in the office database including timely record keeping and running reports.
- Engages lab and classroom assistants, guiding them through the hiring process, and monitoring progress with feedback from students.
- Schedules proctors throughout the semester to ensure proper coverage.
- Enters and tracks changes to scheduled hours in the proctor database and scheduling app.
- Creates reports in support of exam and other units.
- Evaluates office support needs based on unit data.

Minimum Education and Experience |
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Experience in administrative functions, good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy are required.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Previous work in disability services or studies in the health fields a plus.
- Prefers two years of relevant experience in an administrative function with an educational environment.

Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
