How you will make history here...

This role has the responsibility and authority to develop, implement, and manage the Food Safety, HACCP, SSOP, and Quality Systems to assure USDA & FDA regulatory compliance, and ensure conformity to CSC Food Safety & Quality Standards. This role assists in the development, implementation and training of food quality and food safety programs, as well as the manages and maintains the facilities' SQF program. This individual leads the plant's internal audit/inspection processes, and the corrective/preventative action program related to those findings. This role assists the plant in continuous improvement projects, participating in multidisciplinary teams as needed. This individual serves as the primary regulatory liaison for the plant with USDA, FDA, and ODA.

What you will do...

  • Quality Systems management, development, and implementation.
  • Third party and regulatory audits, including but not limited to: GFSI, USDA, FDA, ODA, etc.
  • Maintaining document control and revisions.
  • Continuous improvement tasks - facility inspections, corrective actions, audit responses, etc.
  • Foreign material investigations and reporting, including supplier notifications.
  • Formula translation - Blending sheets review.
  • Assist with hold and complaint investigations, helping to panel finished product.
  • Assist with operational floor coverage as required.
  • Provide Product and Process QA direction to other departments and personnel.
  • Interact with USDA, FDA, ODA and other vendor/suppliers' representatives.
  • Investigates in-plant quality incidents (foreign material, nonconforming product).
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be confident in decision making and critical thinking skills.
  • Hold product handling and storage issues (including those at 3rd party warehouses).

What you bring to the table... (Must Have)

  • Highschool Diploma or GED
  • QA leadership experience in a food or beverage industry plant environment with an understanding of manufacturing processes required.

It would be great if you have... (Nice to Have)

  • Bachelor's degree required and 3 or more years of relevant experience required for consideration.
  • QA leadership experience in a food or beverage industry plant environment with an understanding of manufacturing processes required.Sauce/Beverage (hot fill and hold) packaging and / or thermal processing (soup & sauces) experience a plus.
  • Technical competence in Microsoft Office
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must currently have certification from, or successfully complete, the FDA Better Process School for Retort Operations, GFSI Auditor certification, HACCP certification (including FDA seafood), and FDA Preventative Controls Qualified Individual training.
  • Experience with regulatory agencies such as FDA, USDA or State Health Dept.
  • Quality data collection and analysis.
  • Implementing quality systems and effective auditing procedures.
  • SAP experience.
  • People management experience.

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between

$81,000-$116,500

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
