Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Technician under the Lee lab in the Department of Microbiology at NYU Langone Health. Our laboratory lies at the intersection of immunology, virology, biochemistry, and structural biology. The candidate will support lab operations and perform experiments under general and direct supervision. This position offers the opportunity to develop proficiency with advanced techniques in the structural and functional analysis of membrane protein complexes involved in immune recognition and viral infection. Job Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Life Sciences or a related field with one year of experience. Advanced (beyond basic lab training will be accepted in lieu of experience as assessed by the hiring Principal Investigator). Effective oral and written communication skills required. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in microbiology, virology and molecular biology techniques such as cloning, sequencing, Western blotting, gel electrophoresis and viral vector production. Experience with mammalian or insect cell culture. Comfortable working safely in a BSL-1 and BSL-2 laboratory environment. Familiarity with one of more of the following is preferred: protein purification, structural biology, fluorescence microscopy, genome editing and or flow cytometry. Strong organizational skills and strong communication skills. Commitment to stay for at least 2 years. NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $53,000.00 - $55,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
