Water Resources Supervisor

A successful candidate will possess knowledge of operating, reporting, monitoring, maintaining, and trouble-shooting industrial wastewater treatment facilities and processes. Work will involve trouble-shooting the technical aspects of an industrial wastewater treatment plant's operations.

Also responsible for all aspects of sampling, monitoring, testing required to maintain compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations governing the wastewater treatment process and sludge management at two locations (Brewster and Massillon). Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local operating regulations. Training development and supervision of treatment plant operators. Additional duties may include directing and assisting in the performance of regular and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on all water treatment equipment. Selected candidates must also be available on call to respond to emergent situations such as breakdowns at a plant.




  • Manage the resources and inventory associated with the wastewater pretreatment to effectively monitor the discharge of industrial wastewater to the municipal treatment facilities.
  • Schedule wastewater associates ensuring and if necessary, providing coverage for the operation of Brewster and Massillon sites.
  • Accurately interpret city, state, and federal regulations and standards, and communicate to and partner with regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Prepares and reviews all related reports with integrity and operates any computer data systems that apply to the permit compliance.
  • Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager and coordinate with the Plant Management and the Corp Director of Regulatory Compliance in event of non-compliance, providing investigation of details, and corrective actions.
  • Directs operations staff in developing process control strategies to meet permit requirements.
  • Responsible for direction, administration, and operation of the water quality labs at both locations.
  • Monitor water and sewer meter tracking at both sites.
  • Prepare and execute strategies to manage water, chemicals, and processes in conjunction with production and sanitation teams to meet sustainability reduction expectations.
  • Work with site Continuous Improvement Managers to develop, execute, and monitor effectiveness of projects and operational changes to support improved performance against regulatory and budgetary goals.
  • Create SOP's, onboarding, and JSA's to support processes and procedures for the Water Resources Teams education and certification of associates with the Ohio Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification, at the appropriate levels.
  • Review Wastewater equipment inventory and prepare plan for capital reinvestment to assure short, medium, and long-term reliability.
  • Track and trend costs associated with the operation of all waste water treatment and take an active part in cost savings projects.


What you bring to the table



  • BA/BS degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience of 5+ years or more.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, ANSI and EPA regulations and reporting requirements or willingness to learn.
  • Execution of attention to detail initiatives and conflict resolution focusing on building ownership and committed to establishing and aligning with site direction.
  • Must be highly organized; able to prioritize and meet target dates in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication, analytical, problem solving and human relations skills
  • Promotes a culture of safety while driving results and remaining accountable for personal and department actions.
  • Ability to work independently and partner with essential team members.
  • Strong organizational and systems implementation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound leadership coaching skills and investigation skills.
  • External relationships include contacts with Corporate EHS staff, government representatives, suppliers, equipment vendors, contractors and others on matters related to water resources.
  • Relevant experience in wastewater treatment, preferably in Industrial or municipal discharge.
  • Current State of Ohio, Wastewater Operator Certification, or willingness to pursue.
  • Basic understanding and use of software packages including all aspects of MS Suite and other related software; including CMMS Systems.
  • Willingness to learn State developed reporting tools.
  • Proven leadership experience and ability to work a varied schedule as needed to support water resources operations.
