Your Job

John Zink, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking a Boiler Maintenance Technician to join our R&D Test Center team in Tulsa, OK.

In this key role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining test center boilers, performing general facility maintenance, ensuring equipment reliability, and carrying out preventive maintenance. You will also support customer burner demonstrations and R&D testing activities.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a hands-on operations team and gain valuable experience at a well-established, growing manufacturing and testing facility.

Monday-Thursday, 6:30am-5pm with overtime as needed.

Our Team

Our state-of-the-art test facility allows us to provide performance tests and demonstrations of our technologies such as burners, flares, and thermal oxidizers prior to shipping equipment to a client's facility. In addition, the facility is utilized for new technology innovation and testing for the markets that we serve including international refining, petro-chemical, and power generation markets.


What You Will Do

  • Champion and follow safe work practices.
  • Perform daily boiler checks and duties to ensure efficient and reliable operation of boilers and related equipment.
  • Coordinate annual boiler inspections.
  • Conduct daily facility equipment checks.
  • Carry out general facility maintenance tasks.
  • Execute preventative maintenance and reliability activities.
  • Assist with customer demonstration testing as needed.
  • Plan and coordinate project work with contractors when required.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facility safety, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • First Class Unlimited Stationary Engineer License
  • General knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and wiring
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to obtain aerial lift certification and work at heights up to 100 ft
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification
  • Willing and able to pass a physical assessment, including:
    • Confined space entry inside test facility furnaces and related equipment
    • Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
    • Climbing ladders and stairs
  • Ability to work full time in all outdoor conditions while wearing full FR (flame-resistant) coveralls

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Previous Instrumentation skills
  • Experience with pipe fitting or related field
  • Welding experience
