Position Summary

The Iketani Lab at the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a Staff Associate I to assist with the SARS-CoV-2 projects in the laboratory, as well as to support the day-to-day operations of the laboratory.

Responsibilities

* Perform scientific experiments on SARS-CoV-2 biology.

* Participate in regular meetings with projects PI's and core leaders.

* Keep detailed records of project/s related experiments.

* Help to manage the day-to-day operations of the BSL-2 lab.

Minimum qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in science with four years of experience recommended.

* Must be familiar with microbiological techniques and basic molecular biology.

* Must be highly organized, detailed oriented and able to work both independently and as a team member.

Preferred qualifications

Prior laboratory experience in virology.

Prior experience in scientific writing and preparation of manuscripts.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
