The Sandra Rosenbaum School of Social Work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position as part of the University of Wisconsin-Madison's RISE-THRIVE (Transforming Healthspan through Research, InnoVation, and Education) initiative. We seek a scholar whose work advances understanding of aging and health across the lifespan, broadly defined. Candidates may focus on any stage of the life course, including adolescence, young adulthood, mid or later life. They should demonstrate a strong research agenda and a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration that addresses health, development, and thriving at the individual, family, or community level. The successful candidate, as a member of the College of L&S, will proactively contribute to, support, and advance the college's commitment to excellence among all aspects of their teaching, mentoring, research, and service.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates should demonstrate evidence of creativity and excellence in teaching and scholarly research. In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate experience fostering or the ability to foster teaching, learning, departmental, and research environment where all can thrive.

* A research agenda focused on healthy aging and the life course, broadly defined, including biological, behavioral, social, economic, or structural determinants of health and well-being.
* Evidence of, or potential for, excellence in research and teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
* Commitment to advancing knowledge about health and aging in context, such as aging in place, social and economic inequality, caregiving, intergenerational support, physical and mental health, or community or policy-based approaches to promoting health across the lifespan.
* Alignment with the Sandra Rosenbaum School of Social Work's mission to promote social and economic justice and improve healthy well-being across the life course.

Preferred Qualifications:

* MSW degree from an accredited school of social work

* Interest in community-engaged research
* Research focused on underserved populations or communities

Education:

PhD in Social Work or a related discipline or interdisciplinary field by required start date
