Position Description

Direct and manage instructional program and supervise academic campus operations and personnel at the direction of the principal(s). Coordinate teachers and parents to provide educational opportunities to the students. Solve conflicts and develop policies as needed.

About the Department and/or College


  • TTU K-12, a unit of the Texas Tech University Online division, is a state-approved online kindergarten through 12th-grade school that has been meeting students' needs for more than 25 years.
  • Affiliated with Texas Tech University, a Carnegie tier-one research institution, TTU K-12 boasts a rigorous curriculum that allows students to work ahead, make up failed credits, and achieve their goals from wherever they are.
  • Texas Tech University K-12 is a Candidate for Accreditation with NCA CASI, NWAC, and SACS CASI.
  • TTU K-12 began in 1993 as a "Special Purpose District" designed to help students whose educational needs were not adequately met by traditional school districts. Since then, we have grown to serve students across the country and more than 70 nations around the world.

Major/Essential Functions


  • Effectively supervise the academic elements involved in the Texas Tech K-12 International Partnerships including but not limited to the supervision of teachers, validation of student transcripts, and adherence to graduation requirements as set forth by the Texas Education Agency.
  • Assist Texas Tech K-12 to provide global educational opportunities, market recognition, and increase sales.
  • Conduct video conferences and calls concerning all types of issues with students, parents, or other stakeholders as necessary. Ensure the effective and quick resolutions of conflicts.
  • Develop systems to handle requests from partners and to enhance program effectiveness, and document all processes and work as necessary.
  • Efficiently manage, evaluate, and develop processes for continuous improvement of all aspects for the TTU K-12 programs including, but not limited to monitoring instructional and managerial processes to ensure program activities and outcomes are correlated and use findings to take corrective action if necessary.
  • Consistently communicate and promote high expectations for performance with the Texas Tech K-12 teaching staff.
  • Strategically work with all divisions of Texas Tech K-12 to develop and improve methods, processes, and procedures to ensure a positive student experience.
  • Assist with stateside programs as needed including administrative escalations, student support, fulltime academics collaboration, and district partnership management.
  • Attentively complete all other duties assigned by the direct supervisor/principal.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and ability to adapt to student information systems and learning management systems, such as Canvas.
  • Able to use video conferencing platforms.
  • Excellent and effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Have the ability to work and perform on several projects simultaneously.
  • Have the ability to make sound judgments.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree in educational administration, Texas principal certification or other appropriate Texas certificate; One year of experience as an Administrator in a Texas public school.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Previous experience as a campus assistant principal or greater.
  • Knowledge of current and future trends concerning online education.
  • Experience in working in various LMS and SIS platforms.
  • Experience supervising staff.
  • Active listening, critical thinking, detail oriented.
  • Able to solve problems quickly and resolve escalations.
