Position Overview

The Lead Implementation Project Manager is responsible for both partnering with the Director of Implementation and working independently/primarily autonomously to ensure smooth implementation of services for new accounts and the installation of expanded services for existing customers.

Work with internal and external teams to lead activities, manage timelines and expectations on all assigned projects.

What You'll Do:

  • Drives the initiation, planning, execution, and closeout of multiple complex projects simultaneously.

  • Partner with and lead internal and external business and technical teams to ensure smooth implementation of new ZELIS accounts, new products and existing accounts needing reimplementation

  • Direct implementation activities, including but not limited to the management of schedules, resource allocation needs and deliverables

  • Communicate both internally and externally around the activity and the fulfillment of all requirements per the contract with partners and clients

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define scope of work in all stages of implementation; noting customizations, routing rules, technical requirements and other business needs identified during the implementation process

  • Provide project management SME expertise to other PM's and cross-functional stakeholders

  • Supply project planning, documentation, and cross-functional relationship solutioning to other project managers

  • Maneuver successfully through ambiguous situations, with no support from leadership and lead the team to an objective deliverable

  • Assist with the analysis of new accounts and expansions

  • Provide status reports via defined Zelis application as well as customized reporting as requested and identify and create customized reports per clients' requests

  • Investigate and develop improvements (proactively) for existing processes or develops new process; identifies new areas of opportunity consistent with strategy, proactively and facilitates the development of solutions

  • Responsible for assembling decks and possesses outstanding presentation and communication skills

  • Partner with Operations to stand up new client sets and/or make changes to existing clients

  • Partner with Sales and Account Management with implementation activities from kick off to post-production hand off

  • Establish and maintain standard project plans for any assigned implementation and project work

  • Work on complex issues requiring in-depth analysis.

  • Work independently and partners with internal PMO and Operations teams to ensure proper subject matter expertise is available to support implementation process by indirectly setting objectives for all internal and client resources

  • Provides extensive project management SME expertise to other PMs and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Work closely with EDI team during implementation process to ensure EDI workflow is defined and executable

  • Leads all applicable cross-functional teams during implementation process to ensure workflows and processes are defined and executable.

  • Interacts and collaborates with Adjudication Partners as applicable related to implementation of mutual clients

  • Maintain awareness of and ensure adherence to ZELIS standards regarding privacy

  • Domestic travel up to 45%

What You'll Bring to Zelis:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 8+ years of experience or master's degree plus 6+ years of experience

  • Experience in presenting work to internal/external stakeholders and professional organizations.

  • PMP Preferred

  • Green Belt Preferred

  • 50% Transactional, 50% Tactical

  • Expert experience in Implementation or Account Management; Expert proficiency in partnering with IT for new vendor implementation and creation of new EDI interfaces

  • Moderate knowledge of electronic claim processing knowledge

  • Expert experience working with healthcare claim adjudication partner vendors

  • Expert experience working within formal PMO tool to input, synthesize and report out

  • Solid ability to create project plans, gather requirements and adhering to project plans/timelines

  • Expert proficiency in partnering with IT for new vendor implementation and creation of new EDI interfaces

  • Expert organizational skills in working with multiple departments

  • Knowledge of core business products and services within the claim administrator, claim software space

  • Proficient in independently working in Excel metric and project reporting.
