What is a Clinical Assistant (CA)? CA's are an integral part of hands-on patient care. Working under the direction and supervision of a RN, they have the ability to take and record vital signs, perform designated tests and collecting patient samples, and supporting patients in all activities of daily living. CA's meet patients and their families as they enter the unit, welcoming and acclimating them to the unit. CA's interact with unit staff, physicians, and other hospital department personnel. It is critical that CA's provide timely and accurate communication, accurate documentation and maintain a harmonious, team oriented, customer friendly environment. CAs must be able to function competently in a computerized medical setting. Course Details:
Upon Completion of Course: Students will have opportunity to "bid" into any vacant CA position in the Med/Surg Tower (R3- R7). Upon acceptance, Students as new employees will be eligible for any sign on bonuses where applicable
