Summary/Objective

Hands-on role that will Supervise the Inventory Control processes in our Distribution Center. Primary focus will be administering our cycle count processes and holding our cycle count team members accountable to hitting pre-determined metrics to ensure that we are compliant with our company expectations. Determining the root causes of any variances will be of utmost importance. This role will be required to perform cycle counts along with the team.

Essential Functions

  1. Run, organize, and disperse all inventory control reports.
  1. Ensure that daily cycle count metrics are achieved.
  1. Perform stock checks for quality control, supply chain personnel and DC Management as requested.
  1. Report appropriate discrepancies to the supply chain managers and Sr. Warehouse Manager.
  1. Supervise cycle count team.
  1. Key member of new cycle count program rollout coming to the DC.
  1. Analyze OH inventory reports, transaction history in the system, shipment history, product transfer history and receipt history to determine root -cause variances.
  1. Able to report inventory reports to executive operations leadership and finance in a publicly traded organization.
  1. Work with DC Management team to improve processes and training around inventory accuracy.
  1. Primary contact at DC for all inventory-related inquiries.

  1. Must have the drive and initiative needed to supervise the cycle count program
  1. Able to professionally communicate verbally and written with all levels of the organization in a publicly traded company.

  1. Able to lead an annual Physical Inventory in a large DC.
  1. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibility upon hiring; however, potential direct reports will be a possibility as we build this new cycle count program.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling. The team member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position will require driving material handling equipment such as stock pickers, reach trucks, etc. This position will be required to use RF devices, computers, calculators, etc.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are decided by the hiring manager. This position will report to a corporate Inventory Manager but will also be monitored by the Sr Warehouse Manager overseeing this DC.

Travel

Periodic travel to other Distribution Centers in our network may be required. < 10%

Required Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or GED, college education preferred.
  1. Minimum of 5 years' experience as a cycle counting Manager, Supervisor, or Lead in a large distribution center and team preferred.
  1. Experience with XA or Manhattan WMS systems.
  1. Experience implementing a cycle-counting program a plus.
  1. Able to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
