Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and the Department of Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) seek to recruit an internationally recognized physician leader to serve as Chief for the Division of Pediatric Neurology, ranked #3 on the "America's Best Children's Hospitals 2025" survey in Newsweek and #15 in U.S. News & World Report's annual list for 2024-2025.

The Division Chief reports to the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics and works closely with the other Division Chiefs. CHLA has been affiliated with the Keck School of Medicine of USC since 1932, and the position includes an academic appointment. Candidates should qualify for appointment as Associate Professor or Full Professor. Applicants must have an MD, DO, or MD/PhD or comparable degree and outstanding qualifications in clinical care, education, and research. Applicants must also be board-certified in Neurology with special qualification in Child Neurology.

The Division Chief will oversee the clinical, research, and educational activities of the Division, lead recruiting efforts, and ensure career mentoring for Division faculty and fellows. The Division currently has 26 full-time and 5 part-time faculty members, and 91 staff members, as well as an established Neurology Residency Program and Epilepsy Fellowship Program. CHLA serves a diverse patient population of approximately 2.5 million children in LA County and is a major referral center for critically ill infants and children in Southern California. We have a level I Trauma Unit, a level IV NICU, a level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) and an extensive breadth of subspecialty services. Neurology faculty provide services in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. In addition to the main campus, outpatient services are also provided in the community setting through CHLA Ambulatory Care Centers in Arcadia, Valencia, Encino, Santa Monica and the South Bay.

Our Neurological Institute offers multidisciplinary, comprehensive services for disorders and conditions of the brain and mind. The Institute encompasses CHLA's Divisions of Neurology and Neurosurgery working together with divisions and departments throughout the hospital including Orthopaedics; Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery; Radiology; Hematology-Oncology; Pathology and Laboratory Medicine; and the Center for Personalized Medicine. The neurosurgery program has one of the largest brain tumor programs in the country, performing 125 brain tumor surgeries annually. It also offers leading-edge surgical treatments in conjunction with the Division of Neurology for epilepsy and movement disorders, utilizing robotic surgery and laser-based interventions.

Strong administrative, clinical, research and financial support will be provided, including staff, infrastructure, endowments, and institutional resources. CHLA and USC are equal-opportunity, affirmative-action employers committed to building a vibrant and culturally diverse community of faculty that best reflects the patients and families we serve.

The annual base salary range for this position is $318,094-$354,471.
