Job Summary

As a crusher mechanic, you will be the subject matter expert in the field of maintaining, troubleshooting, rebuilding and assembling rock crushing equipment. Safety is at the core of our business and everyone is responsible for ensuring both themselves and their colleagues go home in the same condition they came to work. Safety is critical as you will work both in the shop environment and in the field at mine sites. You will have the opportunity to work independently to complete assigned tasks and take initiative and ownership in those tasks, while also contributing to tasks as part of a team.

What You'll Do:

  • Take an active role in prioritizing safety for yourself and others throughout the operation at all times in accordance with MSHA, OSHA, and Vulcan standards.

  • Work on tasks such as the assembly, disassembly, overhaul, repair, installation and inspection of crushers and processing equipment.

  • Installation and troubleshooting of hydraulic systems.

  • Installation and troubleshooting of lube systems.

  • Follow OEM instructions and specifications for equipment repairs and rebuilds.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills You'll Need:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in equipment maintenance in the mining, manufacturing, or other related industries.

  • Must be able to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company needs. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

  • Able to travel overnight out of state at any time to meet customers' needs.

  • Knowledgeable of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.

  • Capable of reading and using ID and OD micrometers, dial indicators, and calipers.

  • Ability to use an iPad and a computer to complete WO documentation.

  • Ability to weld various types of metal using both stick and MIG.

  • Ability to read mechanical drawings along with hydraulic schematics.
